1. 33 waterfalls in the Dzhegosh tract

- Distance from Sochi: ~50 km (about 1.5 hours on the way).
- The essence of the route: An easy and very popular trip to Lazarevsky district. A small hiking trail along a cascade of picturesque waterfalls, rapids and backwaters. The place is gentrified, there are bridges and decking. A great option for families with children.
- By car: The road runs along the A-147 highway. We need to get to the village. Head, then follow the signs. The Council: Rent a crossover if you plan to visit other, less popular forest trails in the area.
2. Agura waterfalls and Eagle Rocks

- Distance from Sochi: ~10 km (20-30 minutes).
- The essence of the route: The mountain gorge closest to the center of Sochi. In a couple of hours, you can bypass the cascade of the Lower and Upper Agura Waterfalls, and then climb to the Eagle Rocks observation deck, which offers stunning views of Mount Akhun and the sea.
- By car: We drive along Kurortny Prospekt towards Adler, turning onto Staraya Matsesta. There is paid parking at the beginning of the trail.
3. Mount Akhun and the observation tower

- Distance from Sochi: ~20 km (40 minutes).
- The essence of the route: A winding 11-kilometer road takes you to an altitude of 663 m above sea level. At the top is a majestic 30-meter Romanesque-style tower. From it, in clear weather, you can see the whole of Sochi from Lazarevskoye to Pitsunda. On the way, you can stop at Stalin’s dacha.
- By car: The ascent begins near the Agura waterfalls. The road is paved, but the serpentine requires attention.
4. Olympic Park (Adler) and Imereti embankment

- Distance from the center of Sochi: ~30 km (40-50 minutes).
- The essence of the route: A modern landmark. You can ride along the perfect roads of the Olympic Park, see the Fisht and Bolshoi stadiums, the famous Sochi Park, and then walk along the long Imereti embankment, watching the ships at sea.
- By car: Direct traffic on the excellent A-147 highway. There are a lot of parking lots.
Full-day routes (6-10 hours)
They allow you to move on and immerse yourself in nature or culture.
5. Psakho Canyon and boxwood gorge

- Distance from Sochi: ~40 km (1 hour).
- The essence of the route: Two in one. First you will visit the Psakho Dry Canyon, a fantastic relict forest with karst faults. Then you go down to the Psakho River, where turquoise karst lakes and waterfalls hide in the shadow of the boxwood forest.
- By car: We recommend an SUV or a crossover! The road to the canyon is a dirt road. It’s difficult to drive a sedan, especially after the rain.
6. Vorontsov Caves and the Devil’s Gate Canyon

- Distance from Sochi: ~60 km (1.5 hours).
- The essence of the route: The largest cave complex in the Krasnodar Territory. The tour of the equipped part of the cave takes about an hour. Along the way, you can swim in the purest lake of the Devil’s Gate Canyon.
- By car: The road to Khosta, then to the village of Vorontsovka. The last section is a mountain road.
7. Krasnaya Polyana (Rosa Khutor, Gazprom)

- Distance from Sochi: ~70 km (1-1.5 hours).
- The essence of the route: A world-class mountain resort. In summer, cable cars operate here, lifting to a height of more than 2000 meters, from where you can see the eternal snow. Walking along eco-trails, suspension bridges, restaurants. You can spend the whole day.
- By car: Modern high-speed highway A-148 Adler — Alpika-Service. The toll section through the tunnels saves a lot of time. Ideal for renting a car with a powerful engine for a comfortable mountain climb.
8. Yew and boxwood grove (Khosta)

- Distance from Sochi: ~25 km (40 minutes).
- The essence of the route: A section of the ancient Colchian forest, more than 20 million years old. There are several routes of varying lengths (from 1.5 to 5 km) along shady trails along the steep canyon of the Khosta River. It’s cool even on the hottest day.
- By car: It is easy to get to Khosta, the grove has parking.
Travel for 2-3 days (with overnight stay)
Destination: Abkhazia
Important: You need a passport to enter. The CTP policy for a Russian car in Abkhazia is not valid, you need to buy local insurance at the border (about 500-800 rubles for 5-15 days). Inform the rental company that you are planning a trip to Abkhazia.
9. Gagra + Pitsunda (2 days)

- Route: Sochi -> Gagra Fortress (Abaata) -> Seaside Park and Gagra embankment -> overnight in Gagra -> Pitsunda (pine grove and temple) -> return.
- Features: The simplest and most resort route. There are many atmospheric places for photos, a seaside promenade.
10. Lake Ritsa and Geghi Waterfall (1-2 days)

- Route: Sochi -> Ritsa Relict National Park (along the way: Blue Lake, Maiden’s Tears waterfall) -> Lake Ritsa -> Geghi Waterfall (the one from Sherlock Holmes) -> overnight at the Ritsa campsite or return.
- By car: The road to Lake Ritsa is very picturesque, but it is a serpentine. Be sure to take a car with good maneuverability and brakes. The Geghi Waterfall is accessible only by off-road vehicle (they can be rented locally from local residents).
11. New Athos (2 days)

- Route: Sochi -> New Athos Cave (huge underground halls) -> New Athos Monastery -> night in New Athos -> ruins of ancient The Anakopian fortress on Iverskaya Gora -> return.
- Features: Cultural and religious center of Abkhazia. It’s a very intense program.
Destination: Mountain trails and thermal springs
12. Lago Naki Plateau and Bolshaya Azishskaya Cave (2 days)

- Distance from Sochi: ~180 km (3-4 hours).
- Route: It’s a long but incredibly beautiful road through Maikop. Visit to the equipped Bolshoy Azish cave, views from the Lago Naki plateau (part of the UNESCO site), hike to the waterfalls of the Rufabgo River. Overnight in the village of Kamennomostskiy or at a campsite.
- By car: A long trip. A reliable sedan or crossover will do.
13. Mountain thermal springs (Matsesta, Kudepsta, Chvizhepse)
